Well,

Ask yourself if its worth paying for it first off? Without reading your post, we've spoken on MSN about the debate, and whilst you have your shiny imba digi cam, and nat has her stonkin SLR, remember - you never have that stuff on you when you need it.

My N82 takes an absolutely fantastic picture, in the dark or underlit area's the xenon flash absolutely shines *mind the pun* its like a totally different lense in the darks than the N95.

The iPhone still has a shitty camera that youd expect from a £50 PAYG phone from tesco, its limited to O2 in the fascist way microsoft is the only real viable for a Gamer/Designer/Businessman excluding multiboot.

Whilst it has all the funky gadgets and sexy appeal, I really dont think its worth it! Ok, They look imba, its a shit hot new toy to show off with, but fuck, you moan at people wanting a 1337megapixel camera in their phone because its "Just a phone", go figure with the iPhone, no doubt on a £30 a month contract your looking at £300 cost of the phone (hey im poking in the dark here) but the iphone 1 is like £250 still!

If it had a better camera then perhaps I'd be swayed, if it could record video aswell. But to be honest, its a gadget, like a USB MP3 people think will be handy, but never use it.

Also, as you rightly so point out just quick reading your post there, your a cinema go'er and enjoy your texts and minutes.

Well, £30+VAT im getting 600minutes, unlimited texts, free phone insurance and some stupid ass parrot car kit for, and my shiny N82 for free.

Go, go find me any other network with that!

O2's price plans are harsh, and totally lacking. Did you check into the Data usage? If it was only FREE if it was a 3G data call? Because back in the day "THREE" used to have different call costs out of free minutes for 3G Networks and 2G Networks, 3G Is cheaper for them.

Ok dan, "I’m not some hip sandal-wearing metro-sexual hanging out at Starbucks with my obligatory MacBook Pro." so why do you want an iPhone?

And you got dell because i told you to hahaha :P and because pound per pound their one of the "Better" PC Companies.

"improved tech specs and all for way less than half the price of it’s predecessor?"

Ok yeah right, so, their gonna release the new iphone and its going to be cheaper than the old one... Wake up dan since when has that made business sense? What they going to do with the old iPhone 1's?

Their never going to be released on contract with anyone but O2, they got the market by the bollocks, and they are really not going to let go - people are going to want these phones, and they are going to have to go on O2, thats the way it is.

Best bet for you is to buy a Simfree one, unlocked and get the top data package on your orange contract.

Either that, or just get an N82 like mois :)

I'll admit - their cute, their shiny, their thin BUT, not the thing for me - Nokia + Orange - forever sorry!

ANd if you've had a play on the new nokia maps - well... say FO to iPhone. Get your GPS up, pop up mats and search for a bar - all show up, with their addresses and contact numbers - or just tell it you want to go there! Lists them all in distance order. So totally cool for anywhere in the world, best of all - its free.

Laura told me that you were considering the new IPhone, and I have looked at the review in my T3 magazine and I never thought I would say this but, I would consider getting one myself. But now I have read your blog I have taken back my consideration and put it in the oven. I think I would only have one if I could get one on orange. I too am in the same boat as you regarding texts and minutes I have tons and I would not want to go onto O2 and have all my perks slashed. After all said and done if you do still want one I do know something that would be of interest to you.

That's the beauty part, you can get it on as low as a £30/month contract which is only what I'm paying now anyway. I'll have to wait and see what sort of calls/text package you get with that though. Hope it's not too bad.
