Yes! You feel my pain then. I’d love nothing more than to use my ipod to showcase my latest photos but it’s such a pain in the arse i don’t bother.

As for it eating your videos… there is a solution to that. Make sure that you set iTunes to not sync when an iPod is connected. having worked in IT for more than 5 years now I am more than a little angered when software thinks it knows better than I do.

I am sitting here having a similar frustration. I recently purchased an iTouch and in general I really love it. However, the BS syncing crap drives me crazy. Like you, I just want to put a few photos on my iTouch to show to friends but can only do it in a really convoluted way such as you describe.
Also, I connected my Touch to a computer at work the other day to charge up the battery. Low and behold, later I discovered that all of the videos that had been on it were now gone. Grrrr.

Photos have always been complete and utter tripe, but when I get my iPod Touch on Sunday, how do you suggest putting a few pics on? Can you explore the iPod like it’s a disk, like you can with the Nanos?
